Our Christmas

We had an awesome Christmas! This year was the first year EVER that we haven’t been around family, but it turned out great anyways. I must admit that it was nice not to have to “run” around Christmas day, we were just able to sit back, relax, and enjoy our day and presents. The boy’s were spoiled as usual. Some of the highlights include, a logging truck, a remote control train, LOTS of hot wheels, new blankets, a new toy bin, and Santa also brought the boys a new trampoline! Be safe in the New Year and Merry Christmas to you!

Traditions

I find it hard to believe that Christmas is here. It has REALLY snuck up on me this year. I think it’s because we are a little out of the norm. We had so many fun traditions back in Utah, and here, nothing! I did find one little thing, and maybe it can become our new one?!? At the local fire station they have a “little town”. If you know me, I LOVE little things so I jumped right on this one. They have different houses and building, and in each one they had different activities for the kids to do. It wasn’t our regular tradition, but we still had fun. : )
Seriously, how cute is this?
And no town would be complete without a Wal-Mart
Driving the fire truck
Face painting, which Dillon refused to participate in…
We couldn’t resist a picture with a “tractor”One last visit with Santa

Merry Christmas y’all!

Getting ready for Christmas

Dillon was SO excited to decorate his gingerbread house at school, and I was just happy that I was able to join in the fun! Dillon really got into the gingerbread house, so we decided to get Santa’s sleigh and decorate that too! What do you do when you get frosting on your hands?
Well duh! You eat it off!
And I’m pretty much the greatest mom ever, and didn’t even get a picture of the final product. The boys had fun regardless : )

Naughty word

Dillon: Mom, one of the construction equipment makes a bad word!

Me: WHAT! Where did you see this, and what construction thing is this?!?

Dillon: Well….. you know what we are driving on….

Me: Yes….

Dillon: Well it’s this.

Me: A road?

Dillon: NO! What else is it called?

Me: Oh…asphalt : )

Dillon: Yes, that’s a naughty word!

Me: Yes it is Dillon, but we can just call it a road.

Santa

Our club house had a Christmas party on Saturday, and guess who decided to show up? Yup, you guessed it….. Santa! We told Carson we were going to go see Santa, and he keep laughing telling us “I see Santa” “I love Santa”! Dillon totally understands what is going on here, but Carson has NO idea, I don’t think he even understands that Santa brings him presents. The boys were super cute, and Dillon wanted to go with Carson (so Carson won’t be scared). The first words out of Dillon’s mouth were “is Rudolph really real?” Santa was really sweet, and went on a five minute explanation about how he is in the barn, with the rest of the reindeer and how they all play reindeer games….. way to go Santa! After that Dillon got around to telling him his list, and Carson just sat there the whole time smiling and laughing at their conversation.

Boys

I love it when my little men play nice together! One Sunday afternoon it was rather quiet…. So I came upstairs to find this on the door...... And on the other side... Only to open the door to this... Oh so cute! What little darlings I have!

Dallas Zoo

Last week Dillon had the whole week off for Thanksgiving, and what better way to spend one of the day’s than at the zoo, for only a BUCK!!! Apparently every year the Tuesday before Thanksgiving its dollar day’s at the zoo. Ok, rewind the story for a second, my sister’s sister in-law (ya got that) actually lives here in Dallas, I hooked up with her and she is the one who told me about it, and actually invited us along. Her in-laws (so my sister's in-laws too) were here for Thanksgiving, and they joined us as well. It was fun spending the day with my sisters in-laws! : )It was so good for Dillon to get out with other kids, and Carson LOVES the zoo! The weather was a wee bit cool, but other than that, a GREAT day!

Fun, fun, and more fun

We had a fabulous weekend! How about you? I was so happy that my mom and stepdad Steve were able to come visit us for Thanksgiving, and we sure had a great time! We had a super yummy feast on Thursday, and then the boys got their Christmas present early from the G & G. After that was the crazy shopping to follow. On Friday, Steve was supposed to go flying but the weather was too bad so we took a mini tour of Frisco instead. Chris and I were able to go shopping together without the kids for Christmas, and then my mom, Steve and I went to see Breaking Dawn. On Saturday we had a fun filled day full of activates, but again the weather had other plans and it was a wee bit cold to be playing outside so instead we went to a mall (I know, super creative) where the boys got to ride the train with grandma, and then to Arthur Christmas (a very cute movie that I would recommend by the way) only to send G & G on a plane home : ( I really appreciate them coming to visit us. The boys had so much fun playing with Grandma, and Dillon really enjoyed making paper airplanes with Grandpa. It was sad to send them home, Dillon was even crying.

The train ride with Grandma Christmas presents! On Sunday, it was clean house, and put Christmas up! I love this time of the year and it’s always fun to bust out the Christmas bins and see all the fun decorations. The boys had a really good time putting the tree up, and it was fun to have Carson help out this year. (He has just been too little in the past to “help”)
And here we are, back to Monday. A new week full of new adventures I’m sure! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
